What a comfort to me to hear these teachings. I’ve been unable to find a priest as I live in the northern wilderness where there is no Orthodox church. I’m not an intellectual but here I can understand, praise God. What a comfort to me this God given ministry You have provided.

Great Talk Fr David I have seen this word Phronema a lot but never really dived in to deep as not much of a Theologian, The talk intrigued me and will dive in deeper. It’s kind of an interesting time to read this as I have been reading St Phillip Neri I hear you mention him and so glad you do although I’m a Baptized Serbian orthodox, What I Truly love about St Phillip Neri was his Joy and happiness, kindness, humility Welcoming all, scholars, nobles, beggars, ladies of the night etc. I have read hundreds of books on Orthodoxy over the years and limited Catholic books But something about St. Phillip Neri’s joy and a wonderful story that burns my heart. It only spells out Love and Joy Purity yes purity, so many young men from our church all have so much knowledge can quote any passage tell you about this and that, very smart and intellectual a lot of them, although Phillip Neri could teach us all that Purity of heart is Joy, happiness, Grace Theology without purity is not walking closely with God. Phronema shows us the path. Philip Neri shows us what a man looks like when he walks it Phronema offers the mind of the Church. Philip shows the joy of the Church’s heart. Both whisper the same truth: that holiness is not abstract, not intellectual, but lived , breathed, sung, wept, and loved into being. Phronema as the Fruit of the Ascetical Path is a way of seeing a way of living a way of loving a way of relating to God It is not a thought and is a lifelong orientation. So in ending thank you and will continue to read on with St Isaac and will now see St Phillip Neri s joy and St Isaac s depth both flow from the same root . In Christ Symeon .
